23/02/20 to 29/02/20 Registered several new claims for CTR received via UC claims or changes of circs info received from the DWP. We await confirmation of customer's UC award info. Processing of ATLAS items and also electronic documents that have same date & info as the ATLAS item or sometime are received instead of the ATLAS item or vice-versa & sometimes the info is received via ATLAS one month & via electronic document the next. On one claim we had removed the partner from 15/12/2019. The UC award for 01/11/19 to 30/11/19 still included him as part of the UC claim. The award from 01/12/19 to 31/12/19 omitted him. The UC award from 01/01/20 to 31/01/20 included him again. I rang the claimant who advised that her partner had moved out but had then moved back in a couple of weeks later. I included him on the claim for the dates he is included in the UC award which do not correspond to the dates he was actually resident. VEP checks this week, i.e wage info direct ...

16/02/20 to 22/02/20 On annual leave Monday 17/02/2020. More ATLAS UC updates received & processed. One customer was an existing ctr claimant but had only just gone onto UC. We hadn't updated her wages for over a year. The UCAIF wage amount was double the amount we had on our Northgate system. Checked wages via WURTI ( HMRC records) and updated claimant's wages from Nov 2019 and again from Jan 2020 ( the UCAIF figure). Entitlement ended so sent standard letter advising. Made a decision to continue to pay hb direct to a landlord who stated to us that his tenant was in rent arrears. We had decided to pay the landlord directly back in Jan 2019 and we were reviewing this decision after 12 months. I decided to keep paying L/L direct & wrote to both parties to inform them. Claimant has right of appeal. UCTERM info for one claim received advising UC ended 22jan but then we received new UC claim award info from 7jan. Checked CIS system & UC award is continuous. ...

09/02/20 to 15/02/20 Updated our records for a claimant as a result of automatic wage update received from HMRC. Average wage now reduced so hb/ctr entitlement increased. Amended numerous claims where UC is in payment following receipt of electronic notifications regarding monthly award updates. One customer's nino indicated he is a Person from Abroad. The UC award pdf quoted his nationality as British and his partner is British also so no action required. Another claimant in receipt of UC is self-employed and had the Minimum Income Floor applied for one month and was a non-qualifier for ctr for that month as a result. Several other claimants no longer qualified for ctr after changes in their UC award. I issued our standard letter to each of these. We received an ATLAS UC award update for one claimant but had never actually put their claim into payment. I was able to award ctr back to August 2019. Put ctr into payment for a couple of claims that we received a month ago ...

02/02/20 to 08/02/20 More ATLAS. Some UC notifications appear to be a mixture of 'new claim' and routine monthly award notification. They appear to be where an existing UC claimant becomes liable for council tax and/or rent in the Kirklees area. On one claim the ATLAS items were for amendments to the claimants monthly award in March 2018 and also for November 2019 and December 2019. Unfortunately accepting the March 2018 amendment then erased all the UC information on the Northgate system for the following 19 months until November 2019. I had to input them all over again which took a considerable amount if time. Whilst cross-checking what I had input to the award info documents received at the time I noticed that the customer had excess capital and therefore was not entitled to Council Tax Reduction since the capital limit was reduced to £8000 on 1/4/18. I ended the claim from current date rather than 1/4/18 as we had overlooked this information regarding their capital. ...
