01/03/20 to 07/03/20

I had annual leave on 02/03/2020.

Put 4 new HB claims into payment this week for claimant's in supported accommodation.

Updated wages for a partner on a claim due to info received from HMRC via a VEP task. The average wage is now much lower but the change had no effect as their income was already below their Applicable Amount.

I was able to process several CTR claims that I had registered the previous month now that UC award info was received. I sent out standard non-qualifier letter to those that had no entitlement to CTR.

I also had a couple of notifications regarding new UC claims that had been terminated. I had registered the new CTR claim last month so now issued the claimants FI ltrs asking about income & capital & household composition.

Finally finished updating a claim I first came across in December. The claimant had been interviewed under caution by the DWP as he had failed to declare a private pension which he started to receive in February 2018. He also received a lump sum at the same time. I updated his income & capital back to February 2018 but the DWP have only amended their records from 06/08/2019. Up to 05/08/2019 CIS shows his award as being ESA IR still and then ESA C with a reduction due to private pension from 06/08/2019 only. If we receive notification in future that this change in benefit is to be backdated then the appropriate income & capital info is already on Northgate.

Another customer who made a claim for hb/ctr last month responded to my ltr to advise that doesn't want to go onto UC as is scared of getting into debt. I have already sent her our standard ltr advising we cannot pay hb. Put ctr only into payment.

Ended a ctr claim for a Person from Abroad. I have written twice for proof of her immigration status. Cancelled the claim & sent an Adverse Inference ltr.

  1. Sounds like a very varied week in terms of work types. Should be a good few pieces of evidence that can be created from those. Well done
